• Why should I use a separate neck cream?

  You should use a separate neck cream for 3 reasons:
  
  1. The skin on your neck is different from your face and body. You should use a separate cream to meet your neck's unique needs. Our necks are different in the following ways:

  • Neck skin is thinner and has less oil glands. This makes it prone to dryness. Chronic dry skin leads to crepiness, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.
  • Our necks produce less collagen. Collagen gives our skin strength and structure. Skin begins to slow down collagen production by age 25. With less collagen you'll start to notice loose skin, sagging skin and crepey skin.
  • We move our necks frequently. Up and down, side to side and scrunched down looking at electronics. For this reason, the skin on our necks stretches, causing a loss of elastin overtime. It's just like a rubber band, the more you stretch it, the less it is able to return to it's original taut shape.

  
  2. These differences mean that your neck will show signs of aging more than your face. Unlike the skincare products for your face that target skin type (dry, oily, combination, etc.), neck creams have many anti ageing benefits.

  Sesaflash™ - Seppic Inc.'s proprietary blend includes hydrolyzed sesame seed extract. It firms skin to make it look smooth and taut. As a hydrolyzed vegetable protein, it's also full of amino acids that are essential to skin health , strength and vitality.
  
  Matrixyl® - You know it from empyri's eye cream too! Matrixyl is clinically proven to improve the look of wrinkles.
  
  Hydrolyzed Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Extract (HSSE) - We will always find a way to take skincare products to a higher level with hemp. HSSE hydrates skin effectively and reduces the depth and width of lines. Our best skincare advice is that every product you use should be hydrating in some way. This neck cream is no different!

• How should I apply neck cream?

  Here's our skincare advice on how to apply neck cream:
  
  

  • In the morning, apply after toner and before sunscreen.
  • In the evening, apply after toner and before slugging if that's part of your routine.
  • Use neck cream daily for best results. But we understand, you live a FULL life and you don't always have time for an extra product. Don't worry! You can choose to add neck cream into your routine in whatever way it works best for you.
  • Always apply with a gentle touch. Your neck skin is thin and delicate so do not pull.
  • Move fingers in an upward motion, from collarbone to jawline.

• How else can I make my neck look younger?

  Three words. DAILY SUN PROTECTION.
  
  "Signs of aging" on the skin's surface are caused in part by exposure to the sun. This includes things like hyperpigmentation and dullness. Also, sun damage destroys elastin and collagen. These two most important components in maintaining our skin's youthful look. It is critical that you apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen to your face and neck every day. Even when it's cloudy!
  
  You need to promote collagen in your skin as it ages. Retinol and vitamin C are popular choices. Both are proven to help your skin make more collagen, but retinol can be drying. This is a nightmare for neck skin that is already prone to dryness.
  
  We recommend using empyri's hydrating hemp toner + vitamin C in the morning, followed by skin firming neck cream and your favourite SPF. Our toner uses alcohol-free witch hazel to ensure it is not drying. And you mix the vitamin C fresh every 2 weeks so that it's always active.

• Can I use face cream on my neck?

  Sure, you can! Any moisturizer is better than no moisturizer. All of our skin needs to be moisturized! But, remember that most face creams do not contain active ingredients to treat your neck’s unique needs – especially skin tightening agents.
  
  Neck creams contain ingredients to visibly firm the skin. We use Sesaflash®, a natural solution to skin firming that’s derived from sesame seeds.

• Does this neck cream have CBD?

  No. Empyri’s hemp neck cream does not contain CBD. Cannabidiol or CBD is a therapeutic cannabinoid made from cannabis sativa (hemp) flowers. Our neck cream uses hemp seed-derived ingredients: hemp seed oil and hemp seed extract. These ingredients have incredible skin nourishing properties, but are CBD free.

• Why use cannabis on my neck?

  Even without CBD, cannabis is beneficial for the skin on your neck. Cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil is rich in omegas 3 and 6 essential fatty acids and cannabis sativa (hemp) seed extract is clinically proven to hydrate. Why is this important? Our neck skin has fewer oil glands than our face. This makes our necks prone to dryness. Dry skin is not only frustrating, but also leads to other signs of aging like crepiness and visible wrinkles. • How long will it take to see the results?

  It will take about 2-4 weeks to start seeing the results of your neck cream. Like with all skincare products, there are no overnight miracles! It’s important to use the product consistently. We recommend 1x daily in the morning for visible firming.
  
  For best results, apply neck cream after using empyri’s vitamin C serum for extra collagen boosting benefits. To treat stubborn dry patches, mix 1-2 pumps of neck cream with 1-2 pumps of empyri’s moisturizing serum. And ALWAYS include your neck and chest when applying daily sun protection.

• What makes this neck cream a "clean beauty" product?

  All moisturizers need emollient ingredients to soften and smooth the skin. We swapped popular emollient dimethicone (EWG rating up to 3) for caprylyl glycol (EWG rating 1) to serve the same purpose. Caprylyl glycol is a skin conditioning agent. It comes from caprylic acid which is found naturally in palm and coconut oils. Caprylyl glycol also has natural antimicrobial, and therefore preservative properties.
  
  Clean Beauty is a key pillar of empyri. Each product is as close to nature as possible and we use evidence-based science to ensure it will be effective. We look to leaders in the clean beauty space for resources. Empyri products will never use ingredients on David Suzuki Foundation’s Dirty Dozen list. We use the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep® database for guidance on the human and environmental safety of ingredients - both synthetic and naturally-derived.
